ALBANY COUNTY 4H and AOC

Albany Obedience Club has a long-standing relationship with the Albany County 4-H program. It started in 1995 with training and guidance for the Albany County 4-H dog drill team competing at the NYS Fair in individual and drill team 4-H dog competitions.

In 2003, Albany Obedience Club formed a partnership with the Albany County 4-H program to host an annual week-long 4-H dog camp. Since that time, the summer program has provided an impressive variety of dog-related topics and activities for these youth handlers and dogs. Even with all that variety, agility remains the perennial favorite of our campers.

The AOC Youth Committee has also been involved in organizing and hosting other 4-H programs throughout the year, including regional programs to bring 4-H youth from surrounding counties together.

AOC offers volunteer opportunities and training opportunities, at member rates, for 4-H youth who have participated in AOC-sponsored events.

Area youth interested in the 4-H dog program can contact their county 4-H office. In Albany County, contact Ashley Pierce at arp253@cornell.edu or by telephone at 518-765-3500.
